Seeking to revitalise and refurbish Deakin’s School of Architecture and Built Environment, Building D, Select Architects project managed the development from inception until handover, in time for the commencement of Trimester 1 2016.
The space was transformed providing students, academics and researchers a naturally-lit, hands-on environment, encouraging experimentation with technology, materials and processes. The interactive space provides access to large benches to facilitate collaboration on projects. The studio is now also used as a teaching and research laboratory for measuring the sustainable use of energy.
Select Architect’s efficiency and open communication was paramount to this project’s success. Constant consultancy with numerous stakeholders was required. The client’s were delighted, not only for the revitalised studio spaces, but by the diligent management and delivery by Select Architects.
