Located in Waurn Ponds, Geelong, the client sought a contemporary design for their radius imaging centre to reflect the cutting-edge diagnostic technology the building contains.
The building comprises of a reception/waiting area, staff amenities, eight consulting rooms, various offices and specialist rooms designed for specific diagnostic technologies.
Careful collaboration between the equipment suppliers, Select Architects and other specialist consultants was required to ensure each room is constructed safe and compliant. The thickness and material composition of each and every wall is considered and different depending on its proximity to various equipments and radition types.
The proposed highly contemporary design supports the social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing of the local communities. Complementing the adjoining medical centre, Select Architects designed the site enabling access flow and solved potential flooding issues.
