Pakington Street is at the precipice of an Urban Renewal to become the epicenter as Geelong’s chic, boutique and cultural hub.
Our brief was to create a new and vibrant mixed-use development as a harbinger of change in the locate.
The project required a close engagement with council to ensure the developme was sympathetic not only to the surrounding environment, but also supported the intentions for a new local structure plan. The sensitive layering of the built form at the upper levels with the peeling back of materials creates a well informed and balanced architectural spaces. The building is activated at street level with boutique retail spac-es with three levels of apartments over.
The client feedback was phenomenal. Due to their satisfaction, our Practice has been commissioned for another three similar developments. We are extremely grateful for such a visionary client willing to push the boundaries as advocates for change and a passion for Geelong.
