Select Architects were engaged by Alizzi Properties to develop a scheme for
an Isuzu truck dealership through design development and town planning. The building
was to included a truck workshop to the rear, with a showroom and offices at the
street frontage. After successfully obtaining a planning permit for the project, we were
engaged by Nicholson Construction to prepare the building permit and construction
documentation.
The site offered the potential for a strong architectural presence towards a key
traffic intersection in Mitchell Park, a suburb of Ballarat. In response to some critical
dimensions around truck heights and sweep paths around the site, Select worked with
the client to develop a well-proportioned façade that responded to their requirements.
The integration of a feature signage pylon in Isuzu’s corporate branding anchors the
showroom form, while also creating a striking visual marketing statement.
