Isuzu Dealership – Ballarat

The Brief

Select Architects (Select) were engaged by Alizzi Properties to develop a scheme for an Isuzu truck dealership through design development and town planning. The building was to include a truck workshop to the rear, with a showroom and offices at the street frontage. After successfully obtaining a planning permit for the project, Select were engaged by Nicholson Construction to provide architectural services through value management, construction documentation, and construction stage services.

Project Description

In response to some critical dimensions around truck heights and sweep paths around the site, Select worked with the client to develop a well-proportioned façade that responded to their requirements. The integration of a feature signage pylon in Isuzu’s corporate branding anchors the showroom form, while also creating a striking visual marketing statement. Once the builder was appointed, Select balanced the value management proposals presented while ensuring the original design intent and client requirements were met. Close collaboration and communication with the builder resulted in positive, straight-forward problem-solving outcomes.

“Nicholson Construction has engaged Select Architects on several Design and Construction projects and has welcomed their collaborative and professional approach. The Select Team provides carefully considered design and documentation and worked closely with AWN to protect the design intent, while also being mindful of the project budget and program. We have no hesitation in recommending Select Architects and welcome future collaborative ventures.” – Matthew Rieniets, Nicholson Construction

“Isuzu Ballarat are very happy with the outcome of the new (Isuzu Dealership) building. Thank you to Select Architects for their design!” – Chris Alizzi
