Select Architects were engaged to design a retail and commercial development for the coastal town of Grantville, Victoria. The development was to include a supermarket, specialty shops, food and beverage, and a fuel station.
From the beginning of this project, Select worked closely with the client to explore a number of layout options in order to maximise the site. This project is a representation of our ability to adapt and respond to the requirements of the client. Over the course of the project, the anchor tenant for the supermarket changed, resulting in a redesign to capture the needs of the new tenant. Select worked collaboratively with the client and the tenant to bring together a design outcome that worked for all parties, resulting in an endorsed planning permit.
Due to changes in the economic climate, the client has chosen not to proceed with this project.
