Alterations and additions to an existing church building for the purpose of creating an Archive Storage Facility on the ground floor and 3 separate apartments on the first floor.
The design of the existing building was directed by the narrow site, boundary and heritage zone. Select Architects conserved the existing brick shell as a nod to the old and the new. Materials were chosen by their suitability to the site and aesthetics. Fibre cement was chosen for the sites buildability and cost effective nature. The metal roof sheeting and cladding, addressed the existing roof pitch and the chosen colour scheme was relevant to neighbourhood diocese.
This modest yet modern design pleased our clients in response to their brief and diocese residential codes.
