Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) tasked us with delivering a state-of-the-art, competition-grade gymnasium for St Helena Secondary College, building on previous upgrades to the sporting facilities. Select Architects provided design, documentation, and contract administration services.
The facility has been designed as the landmark building of the school. A translucent wall set against the natural timber structure creates a space filled with natural dappled light during the day and externally becomes a lit beacon with activated silhouettes shrouded beyond.
As the Principal Design Consultants, Select Architects effectively coordinated and collaborated widely with stakeholders to deliver the project. We successfully provided assistance with budget and value management, while offering cost-saving options and aiding in the tender process. The clients were beyond grateful for the striking state-of-the-art gymnasium and for the diligent management we provided.
