Select Architects were appointed to undertake a feasibility study to consolidate accommodation properties located at various sites, to subsequently complete a Masterplan for the co-operation.
The previous BDAC facility included accommodation for health and wellbeing services throughout Bendigo as well as culture and community activities which were managed from a number of separate locations.
The planning and design that achieved a 6-star rating, was inspired by local Indigenous art, and reflected the organic, naturalistic, and expressive forms. Curved walls and roof shapes connect the cluster of pods, providing a unity of forms and relationships between the various service units.
