Located at one of Geelong’s busiest retail precincts on Pakington Street, the client’s goal was to create a significantly improved urban environment by providing a quality landmark retail and office development. The development site originally comprised of four separate residential properties that were demolished to make way for a new a lively retail-lead mixed use development, integrating sensitively with the adjoining residential area.
The site area of this development is 2032m2 with 35 car parks. The design consolidates the streetscape by providing 1054m2 of transparent retail interface at street level and space for five offices at first floor level with ample rear car parking to service proposed uses.
The sophisticated design with its reverse slung verandahs and striking corner tower provides a unique landmark within the shopping precinct. The exterior treatment combines composite aluminum panels, rich timber cladding and expansive glazing panels at ground level.
