Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd (VACSAL) was relocating to the Northcote RSL and required fitout of the building as a training centre.
Our role was to transform the existing RSL building into a strong, unified and vibrant Indigenous Training Centre with associated conference facilities.
VACSAL supports and manages a number of community programs as well as providing strategic advice to Aboriginal Organisations and Government bodies on issues impacting on Aboriginal people.
The project involved relocating VASCAL’s existing services on Smith Street, Fitzroy to the Northcote RSL and fit out the building as an Indigenous Training Centre.
The key objective of the project was to reflect a strong and unified community offering key advice and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. The high profile building on High Street was considered integral to demonstrate the afore mentioned strength and unification.
The fit out of the space draws from the stories of the organisation and communities they serve. The organic forms, natural materials and earthy palette creates an indelible link.
